The volunteer team was lead by Sror Abdulkareem who attended the Institute of Nursing during and after the liberation war of Mousil. She played a big role in supporting civilian and military casualties. Since then, she has conducted numerous first aid training courses for volunteers. The Laos Under-16 Girls’ National team began competition today at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U16 Championship. The tournament spans from May 7 to May 22nd and is hosted by Thailand. Our very own SPIRIT OF SOCCER coach, Ms. La Kham-On, was selected to the team and has been training in Vientiane and Thailand for the last month to prepare for the tournament. Spirit of Soccer Educates 29 Coaches in Laos and Holds Grassroots Development Festival Spirit of Soccer organized a Football ‘D’ License coaching course for 29 participants in Xieng Khouang Province in partnership with the Lao Football Federation (LFF) and support from the US Government. The course was led by Mr. Somsack Keodala with support from Spirit of Soccer CEO, Scotty Lee. This week we sponsored 25 school teachers to participate in the first ever AFC D License coach certification course in Pailin. .Pailin is a province in western Cambodia at the northern edge of the Cardamom Mountains near the border of Thailand. Last week we held a four-day coaching workshop in Cali, Colombia and concluded with a Mine Risk Education (MRE) & Football Festival. The program drew 11 new coaches and 167 participants. On the 10th Anniversary of winning their first ever industry award, Spirit of Soccer added to its growing list of recognitions last week when it received the award for Sport for Peace and Social Justice at the Beyond Sport Awards in New York.
